I loved the classroom environment that Jillian facilitated. She made this course extremely welcoming and fun. The techniques that she employed definitely helped me retain more knowledge of Spanish than I anticipated. I would highly recommend Jillian's course to anyone who would like to learn Spanish.

I really enjoyed how realistic and applicable [class] was. We had real conversations in real time and were able to learn the translations of them by learning the word, using sign language, and repetition. Jillian made it so comfortable to be goofy and have fun while learning, which is so (if not the most) important aspect of learning to me. If I'm not laughing, I'm probably not learning that much. Every class was consistently engaging and the content was wonderful. I also liked the pictures she used. They were great descriptors of the target structures we went over.
I have taken formal Spanish classes plus Duolingo for the past 5 years. I can honestly say that I can't remember a whole lot about any of those classes. I spent hours cramming vocabulary, but I could not listen to Spanish conversations and understand what they were saying, and my extent of speaking Spanish ended at "Yo bebo agua".
I have taken Jillian's class for 6 months now, and have had multiple bumpy (but comprehensible) conversations with native Spanish speakers. Her unique style of teaching has drenched my brain with knowledge that really sticks, and each class builds upon the other without it being detrimental if you miss a class or two.
Jillian is laid back, understanding, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. With her instruction, I am able to now travel to Mexico and use my newfound knowledge to travel successfully.
Jillian is a PHENOMENAL instructor! She is engaging, funny, and encouraging! No matter what level you’re at, if you want to really be immersed in an incredible learning experience, take her class!

I have tried taking Spanish as an adult before and nothing seemed to stick. Jillian has a way of teaching that makes it fun and easy to remember phrases and words. Her years of teaching middle schoolers has helped her perfect a way to reach us “hard to teach” adults! I am excited to take my second class this fall with her!

I had always thought I couldn’t learn a language conversationally because of the way my brain works. BUT I joined this class a year ago and have been pleasantly surprised that it works for even me! I started out knowing only a few words in Spanish. Jillian got us speaking from the beginning as well as reading. She is creative and keeps us interested.
I was even able to travel to Chile for work this summer and have conversations with some of the people I was working with thanks to Jillian having us practice getting across the ideas we want to communicate with the words we know – not getting stuck on the words we don’t know yet.
