Home-Cooked Meal and Conversation

We enjoyed delicious green pozole at the home of local Guanajuatense, Alma. She was a great storyteller, and encouraged everyone to participate in Spanish table talk!

Cooking Class in Spanish

Authentic Mexican cuisine meets language-immersion experience! Using the kitchen at a local language school, our cooking teacher walked us through the steps to make REAL Mexican enchiladas. Great language exposure with a super yummy reward at the end!

Diving into Spanish through a Street Food Tour

Small groups followed Jillian's self-guided tour map to hunt down some of the best street food in Guanajuato. Aguas frescas, tlacoyos, garbanzos, churros, and of course, tacos. Perfect opportunity for some transactional language practice and small talk with locals!

Tlacoyos y Gorditas de Tere

Street food is one of the best ways to experience Guanajuato. Tere has served these tlacoyos and gorditas at this food stand for over a decade. And the line often wraps around the block.
