Combo Dance Class + Spanish Class!

Description

Friday, October 23 5:30pm-7:00pm Denver Join lifelong dancer and teacher, Jocelyn Muñoz of Mexico City, and AveEspañol's Spanish instructor, Jillian Rush, in a 90 minute, fun-filled dance lesson and Spanish lesson COMBINED! Jocelyn will introduce us to bachata, salsa, and merengue, and then we will take a deeper dive into bachata with plenty of time to practice and stylize your moves. At the end, there will be open dance floor time for you to put your new skills into action! And the best part? Jocelyn will deliver the whole lesson will in easy-to-understand, thoughtfully-structured Spanish, presented with language learners in mind. Before the event, Jillian will send you a pre-recorded video lesson she has made to introduce and build your fluency with the most repeated (and most transferrable to everyday, real-world language!) language structures that you will hear in the lesson. During the lesson, Jillian will organically integrate language supports and instruction, ensuring that the dance lesson is comprehensible and that your brain is given plenty of in-context repetitions to make the language stick! You truly will walk away having experienced two lessons in one - new, usable skills in dance and new, usable skills in Spanish! What better way to level up your Spanish abilities than through a culturally rich, interactive social event where language and body movement work hand in hand!
